Brothers and friends, I hope your summer was full of wonderful stories and memories. For me this was a time with family, projects, relaxing at the beach, and fishing on the boat with my kids.

For Friendship Tuscan Lodge, our visitation to King Hiram’s Lodge in Provincetown was a fantastic experience for me, and I trust the other travelers as well. Our portrayal of the Fellowcraft degree was outstanding, and greatly appreciated by our hosts. The weather cooperated at every turn, we had flat seas and saw a lot of whales and dolphins on the whale watch. I would like to personally thank the those who made the trip, and in particular the trip chairman – WB Steve Spencer. His attention to the details ensured we were well taken care of and entertained.

The annual Awards Night was another great success. The dinner was very well-attended and was capped off by the traditional (and excellent) strawberry shortcake dessert. Thanks to Brother Rick Balboni for putting the event together, and to Claudette Mertens for the homemade shortcake. And of course, congratulations to all the brothers who received awards pins, particularly our latest 50-year member RWB Anderson Zeidler.

This year the lodge picnic and movie night were organized by our Junior Steward, Brother Jeffery Mayer. The picnic was held in the back yard of the lodge building and the movie was in the lodge room. It was well attended and a great time was had by all!

I would like to personally thank those who worked at the US Women’s Soccer Tournament of Nations games at the Rentschler field booth 125. It was a great time of fellowship for everyone. This fall we will once again be staffing the concession stand at the UCONN Football games. So please support this fund raiser with your time and effort, contact WB Chis Ramsey with your availability.

On Saturday November 10th we will be hosting a Military Mess Night, to celebrate and pay tribute to all Veterans. It will be a formal evening, black tie or Military equivalent and limited to 60 participants. Look for the flyer and don’t hesitate on your reservation. If you cannot attend please consider donating to the raffle. All proceeds will be donated to The Allied Forces Foundation.

On September 6th WB John Pierce will be continuing the discussion on the Esoteric Side of Freemasonry. On October 4th Brother Ron Sussman will giving a talk on the Star-Spangled Banner. Be sure to join us for what I am sure will be and enlightening discussion.

Don’t forget to forward your updated contact information to the secretary of the lodge and we are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming events.
