Hello Brothers,

Winter has finally set in but it hasn’t slowed the good works of the lodge members! This year our lodge will be supporting a different charity chosen by a new Lodge Officer each month. This year’s campaign started off in December when I chose to support The Marine Corps Toys For Tots foundation. The Marine Corps Reserves collects and donates toys to give to children in need for the Christmas season. The members of our Lodge were in the very giving spirit of the Holiday season and I would like to thank all of you who donated toys to put a smile on the children’s faces this Christmas.

I would like to congratulate our Marshall Brother Rick Balboni on a successful fundraising event in January benefiting our local FOODSHARE branch who works to end hunger as part of the overall community effort to alleviate poverty in the Greater Hartford area. This successful Lodge effort was supported with monetary do-nations and donations of nonperishable food items from many generous members of our Lodge.

I would also like to congratulate our Junior Steward Brother Joe Greico on his successful effort in February raising support for the Connecticut Humane Society a leading resource in the state for companion animal welfare, enriching the lives of families and communities through adoption services, medical care, and prevention of cruelty. This successful Lodge effort was supported by our generous Lodge members with monetary donations and donations of pet food, toys, and other items requested.

I would like to thank our Junior Deacon Brother Jordan Porcher for donating items needed in the name of our Lodge to Project Cradle Care organized by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. This event was to benefit less fortunate expectant mothers with a community baby shower.

This year’s Manchester Brotherhood in Action breakfast in February was well represented by members of our Lodge as the kitchen staff. This annual event raises funds to help support young children and their families dealing with life threatening illness. I would like to recognize and thank Brother Steve Aldi for organizing the brothers of our Lodge for this worthy and charitable event.

Our Senior Steward, Brother Brad Young, has chosen to support the local charity MACC or Manchester Area Conference of Churches for the Month of March and our Junior Warden, Brother Jordan Porcher, has chosen to support the charity of The Hartford Food System for the month of April. Be on the lookout for emails/fliers for these events!

Brothers, this is Masonry in action. We are together builders of a better community for all through these events. I am very thankful to be a member of such a hardworking and charitable group of individuals. Please be on the lookout for future fliers/emails informing you of the charity of the month events sponsored by our Lodge.

Fraternally,
